"IT ISN'T EVEN SPRING" - YET!
We have been walking around these past couple of weeks “restless as willows in a windstorm” and “jumpy as puppets on a string”. We'd say that we “have spring fever, but we know it isn't spring” -YET! But it is just around the corner. Put away your dark brass, heavy draperies, cozy blankets and “lighten up” - that means colors, fabrics and flow. Everything should be clean and refreshing, light and tranquil. Embrace the following:
*One trend that never gets old is spring cleaning. And while you are at it PURGE. Can't face a thorough spring cleaning quite yet - number one MUST to transition into spring is clean windows, inside and out. It will brighten up a room like nothing else and the only cost to you is time and calorie expenditure!
*New white or a delicate floral pattern sheets will brighten and freshen your bedrooms inexpensively. Nothing beats the look and feel of crisp new sheets!
*Green is the “it” color for spring. Incorporate various shades of green into your existing décor using throw pillows, paint or even a lampshade. Don't want to make a commitment to the color green, buy some green ribbon and double sided tape. Attach to an existing lampshade or use to hang your favorite photo frames.
*Nothing screams spring like fresh flowers – a pot of tulips, hydrangeas, daffodils or crocus on the dinning or kitchen table will invite spring into your home. Put away heavy, dark pottery containers and bring out the clear glass and crystal vases (sparkling clean, of course).
*A wonderful centerpiece is simple to make utilizing potted plants. Find a container that is tall enough to cover the plastic pot. Tuck Spanish moss on top and around the sides of the pot. Customize for Easter by placing some colored eggs or ceramic bunnies on top of the moss.
Of course, Walker's Bluff is “spring” ready. Come see our new spring retail, custom Easter baskets, treats and festive décor.
